Mechanisms of Obesity-Associated Diseases
Research goal

This novel scientific focus of our clinic deals with the cellular and molecular mechanisms of inflammation- and obesity-associated diseases, e.g. non-alcohol-associated Fettleber or endocrine/exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
These research activities primarily deal with local and systemic inflammatory signaling pathways in the development and progression of obesity-associated tissue damage as well as with the validation of novel pharmacological treatment opportunities.
